FAQs

What can I expect out of a lesson?

Lessons are unique to each student based on their level and their goals. For students that are just starting out, I like to go straight in to how to keep a rally going. I want new students to be able walk on to any court and be able to make honest and informed efforts in their game. We’ll cover the most fundamental shots like dinking. We’ll also go over core principles of a competitive game such as moving up to the kitchen during play and how to identify and address common mistakes.

For more advanced players, you should expect to get focused on specific skill development. Are we where we want to be with our drives? Are we making the best decisions while we’re playing? Do we notice a specific skill that we think could take our game to the next level?

All that being said, my main goal is to ensure that YOU are getting the most out of your time. So, if there’s anything specific you’d like to address or work on, we should definitely make that happen!

How long are lessons?

Each lesson is approximately 90 minutes long. Lessons can be shortened at student’s request.

Where do you teach your lessons?

Toward the beaches area I like to teach at South Beach Park Tennis Court. Toward downtown I like to teach at Klutho Park in Springfield. Please note: Lessons booked at the beach include a $15 travel fee.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! Lessons are more fun when friends are involved. Additionally, there is a discounted rate for Group Lessons, so take advantage of that if you can!

Do you teach kids?

Yes! Pickleball is a great sport to get in to as a kid and as an instructor with a degree in Psychology, I am conscious of differences in learning styles between children and adults and attempt to engage with children on their level.

Do you make house calls, can I take lessons at my house?

Yes I do! I have a regulation sized portable net that is very easy to put up and take down. As long as we have enough space to play and the surface of the ground is flat and smooth, we can set up our net and get lessons going right on the spot!
